Start of Autumn“Li Qiu”

Liqiu is a traditional East Asian solar term that marks the beginning of autumn. It usually falls on around August 7th each year, signaling the transition from summer to autumn. 

In Chinese, “Li” means “beginning” and “qiu” means “autumn.”During the Liqiu season, the weather starts to cool down, and the autumn harvest is approaching.

It is a time when people traditionally prepare for the upcoming cooler season by harvesting crops and storing food. 

The days gradually become shorter, and there is a noticeable change in the air as summer gives way to the crispness of autumn.
